Since when did councils employ video operators?

To make matters worse, the fine rises to £120 if I don't pay it within 14 days of the notice. The notice is dated 24th April, yesterday was 9th May. Work it out.

It arrives at the house 15 days after the notice with no franking date on the letter. Honestly you couldn't make this stuff up.

This country just gets worse and worse. National and local government now seem to be treating motorists as some sort of cash cow, who are only there to pay shit loads of money into their coffers at the drop of a hat.

Unlike speeding, where you have white lines on the road and two photographs to prove you were speeding. What I have is a photograph of me in the junction behind another car. This could have been a photograph of me moving through the junction. It doesn't prove anything.

I'll now need to speak to some moron on Monday who will tell me it was posted on the 25th and imply that I am a liar, then insist on the £120.
It's the attitude of bureaucrats which annoys just as much as the fines etc.

My other half was up for jury duty but had booked a holiday. She had to prove that she was telling the truth so they'd put it back to the next time. My point is - it's a case of the tail wagging the dog. Why is some bureaucrat allowed to imply that my missus is a liar instead of just putting it back to the next time.

It's the type of thing that is too late to fix when you let a nanny state get out of hand.
