Back in 1985 Simple Minds played two gigs at Ibrox.
Seeing as this was the dark ages, and SM had the audacity to have all the flags from the countries that they had been touring (which included the Rep of I) this caused a considerable stooshy.
As I remember it, the question was put to the former husband of Chrissie Hynde and Patsy Kensit that had he not been in fact a bit contraversial needlessly?
To his eternal credit he replied along the lines of:
"Controversial? We hired Ibrox, and we would have flowing f***ing kites if we wanted to"
He's still a twat these days mind.
