Is 4th Place Good Enough For Europe...?
...assuming the winner of the Scottish Cup has already qualified?
There was a lot of talk from the SFA at the end of last season about giving the 2nd UEFA Cup place to 4th in the league rather than the Scottish Cup runners up, if the Scottish Cup winners had already qualified, because of the run of teams doing badly in the league getting the place as Cup runners up then doing badly in Europe.
Does anyone know if they actually made this change or if the rules are still the same for this year? Everyone (both on here and in the press) seems to still be assuming we need to get 3rd place or reach the SC final, both of which look feasible but not exactly easy targets.
4th place in the league however looks altogether more achievable - although 3rd or a cup final would of course be better.
