Personally, I like sauce as the only time I got fish and chips when I was really wee was when we came up to Juniper Green to see my granny. I do love mushy peas with vinegar and the crappy English version of curry sauce as well.

I do yearn for the Cream Soda my granny bought in the 70s as an accompaniment (don't remember the brand but some thing localish, I guess)
