Re: Workplace Discrimination
From this morning's Telegraph
Women with young children suffer the most discrimination at work, according to a study released today.
The report into inequality in Britain found that a mother with a child under 11 was nearly 50 per cent less likely to be recruited than a man. The Equalities Review, which publishes its final report today, was commissioned by Tony Blair in 2005 to examine persistent inequality of all kinds.
In an interim report last March, it said it had found evidence of "chronic, persistent and unjust inequalities" in British society. Published later today, the final report is expected to reveal that working mothers face more discrimination in the workplace than disabled people or those from ethnic minorities.
