Dunno what you are talking about as Hibs weren't relegated in 1988/89.
I take it you are back on your 1998/99 relegation hobby horse hypotheseis that there was a large increase in Hibs only supporters in the 1st division.?
I've proved many times that actually this was a probably a static Hibs support compared to the previous season with very possibly an increase of a few hundred at the very most and am happy to agree it was a much better support than in the early 1990's.
All of which was very commendable in one of the worst leagues in the world.

In 1988/89 the Dunbar end held 10,000 plus so it was a huge factor in average attendances, By 1999 it was 3,700 so it wasn't of the same significance and the like for like comparison is from the stadium redevlopment of 1994 ish which is even to anorakish for me.
