What amazes me is the fact that even after 8 years being held against her will her first reaction when given the chance was to escape, could have been easy for this girl to give up hope of ever being reunited with her family and is probably more scared of the outside world just now than she was of her kidnapper.

Imagine how the parents feel after all these years of probably coming to terms with the worst.
