Westies forum

Having received jimmy's e-mail where better to post my thoughts/opinions than on the forum it'self - should anyone want them that is

Obviously as we are currently in the between footballing seasons there will currently be a lack-of-use of not only this part of the bounce forum but hibs-related stuff in general - apart from bizarre rumours started by yer old man's work mate's, mate's cousin's best friends dug or whatever - resulting in an overall lack-of-use of the forum.

In regards to regular use of it during the footballing calendar we have to ask what the main point of having the forum is. If its to advertise meetings and buses can this not be advertised on one of the more 'main' forums - providing the same service but also getting the 'word' out about the westie branches meetings and buses and also our existence in general 'out there' more rather than our own little forum.

This forum can be useful for communication for between meeting communication but by the apparent lack of use of the forum could the e-mail system not be just as much use? What is really discussed between meeting? Names for transport is the only thing I can think of As the internet and e-mail tend to go hand-in-hand nowadays would i be right in saying that most, if not all the folks, who use the bounce are on he e-mail list plus others? Most of the branch to tend to keep in touch with other members and have e-mail, mobile numbers etc and as well as pm's on the bounce here would this not achieve similar results as having our own forum, as cool as it is having our own wee part of the WWW .

Anyhoo to summarise, i think the forum is an added bonus to the branch of which i think it brings advantages but if the 'powers that be' can use the space better then im sure the forum will not be of huge loss as we can get around it. I would like it to stay but only if its worthwhile to all parties involved
