Re: Its about time Petrie put his cards on the table
Heard at the time that there was a "heated exchange" between Mowbray and Riordan in the dressing room at half time in the third derby. (Mowbray was reading the riot act to all the players, Riordan told him to ***k off). Suggests a certain personality clash.
Question I'd ask is, what is the origin of this, and what could Riordan have done/do to bury the hatchet himself? He's fully entitled to protect his own financial and footballing interests, but as a Hibs player/fan, should he be more prepared to give and take with the manager in place?
I ask all this without knowing the whole story, but if it is a non-financial/non-footballing issue, surely it's up to both parties to deal with it in a more constructive way. Ultimately too, Mowbray's his boss, and all of us in more conventional lines of work know that it's the one further down the pecking order who generally has to tolerate the "superior", rather than the other way round. Guess it can't really be that different in football.
Without wanting to invade anyone's privacy, I think it would make a lot of Hibs fans a lot happier to know what's really going on, rather than leaving everyone to speculate.
