Not based on Che Guevara, but actually Che Guevara. He was born Ernesto Guevara to quite a wealthy family. He started off into a career in medicine, before travelling through South America. He was a guerilla leader in Cuba, and helped to get Fidel Castro to power. He was enventually captured when he attempted a similar thing in Bolivia, in what is commonly know as a CIA led operation.
I'll let someone with a bit more of a knowledge on the subject to fill in the blanks.
