• Just back and that was decent…..

I enjoyed that, Hibernian played some very good football against a reasonable Raith team. We had fine performances again from McGeogh, Henderson, McGinn, Keatings, Bartley and refreshingly Gray and Oxley.

As I said have been repeating weekly, we need to take our chances, today James Keatings showed us how to just that with a very well executed 22 yarder, the proverbial peach. He also got a slight touch on Stevensons (?) cross that young Jason knocked in. A great starting debut James.

Some of the football was very easy on the eye, especially that passing between John McGinn, Liam Henderson, Marvin Bartley and Dylan McGeogh. Good stuff Hibs.
No Fyvie or Carmichael, both injured but nice to see Jordon Forster back in the squad.

    The players

Oxley, had a couple of very good saves again today, and although he flapped a little, I thought that was Oxley best performance in a Hibs shirt.

Gray came back in to the right back position and other than a poor pass back that caused a stooshy, he looked more like his old self.

Fontaine, played pretty well today, given the hand full that John Daly is.

    Hanlon, see Liam Fontaine comments.

    Stevenson looked better today

Bartley came back in, sat in deep and had a smashing game, big, strong and a touch of fitba about him too.

McGinn is simply a good football player, I think I am developing a man crush on him. He is the epitome of what a graceful, playmaking midfielder should be. He will go far.

McGeogh looked good, very good again, covering every blade of grass on the pitch. Another player I thoroughly enjoy watching.

Henderson, no quite as good as his fellow midfielders but still brought plenty to the game.

Cummings played well again, he scored, that is his job. Some Hibs fans should remember that.

Keatings started for the first time and impressed greatly, a sweet goal, an assist, pace, directness and no lack of skill. Let’s hope he is not injured, he looks a good signing.

Malonga came on for the hurt Keating and for 15 minutes looked very good.

Young Martin came on for McGeogh and done just fine.

McGregor came on for Bartley with a few minutes to go.

The referee was again pretty innocuous today, that is good, two games in a row.

Raith were decent, although not as good as last season, the left back McKeown was decent and Daly looked fit and gave us a hard time. Well done in the more than 500 fifers who travelled over.

My man of the match was the same as the 12th man yet again, John McGinn was fantastic to watch, what a player. He was pushed hard by the equally excellent Dylan McGeogh, who was all over the pitch, twisting, turning, passing and moving again. Well done John and Dylan, great to see Hibernian playing fitba again.
